Iguana Removal Services
Corporate Contracts
Commercial locations such as Cities, Golf Courses, Home Owner Associations and Private Companies can contract us for regular monthly or weekly site visits to maximize removal opportunities.
Private Residential
This invasive species can cause tremendous damage to your private property, home and vegetation. We coordinate with local law enforcement and use a PCP pneumatic air rifle to humanely and permanently remove your iguanas.
Live Trap Transport
The State of Florida prohibits the removal of live Iguanas for relocation. With a State FWC permit, a live Iguana may be removed from a property for humane euthanasia. FWC has authorized Down Goes Iguana to transport Iguanas you have live trapped for this purpose.
Iguana Removal Only
We humanely remove Iguanas only – We are not interested in trapping or killing raccoons, opossums, rats, armadillos, geese, or frogs. We have a special aversion to alligators, crocodiles and pythons. Please contact other wildlife control specialists for those species – Thank you.
Safety First.
We work closely with local law enforcement. While we are authorized by the State FWC to remove Iguanas, in today’s environment, a person with a gun (we only use air rifles) can be intimidating and frightening to the public and your neighbors. Before ALL Iguana removals, we contact the local police to inform them of our presence on-site. We dress professionally in well-marked DGI construction vests.
By State law, Iguanas must be humanely euthanized on location. We use a Brocock Sniper XR variable-power .25 caliber air rifle, equipped with a whisper quiet Donnyfl silencer. It is powerful enough to instantly kill an Iguana, yet with four power settings, it is limited to its range as needed. We confirm the background is clear and safe before ever engaging an Iguana.

What Do You Do With The Dead Iguanas?
Three things are possible . . .
- You may keep the Iguana to eat – Their nickname is “Chicken of the Tree.” They are a staple food in some cultures. Just Google “Iguana Recipes” to see a plethora of ideas.
- We put the Iguanas on ice and donate them to groups who have asked us to provide them with food for those who either like them or are food insecure. Exotic Meats sells boneless Iguana for $59.99 per pound.
- As per FWC guidelines we dispose of the Iguanas by following State regulations.
Why Not Live Trap Them to Relocate vs. Killing Them?
The State of Florida does NOT allow for the relocation of this invasive species. They are causing millions of dollars in damage and are dangerous to both your pets and protected wildlife such as Burrowing Owls and Sea Turtle eggs and burrows. The Iguana population has exploded to over 20,000 in Florida.
What if You Cause Damage By A Stray Bullet?
We do not shoot bullets . . . It is an Air-Rifle and it shoots soft lead pellets with limited range. Next, we simply do not take a shot unless it has a clear backdrop. Safety comes first. We are also a very good shot. 10 consecutive shots all within a nickel from 35 yards with a very powerful scope. We don’t miss or we don’t shoot.
Last, like any business, we are insured for damages.
Can I Hire You To Take Me Iguana Hunting?
No. We are a professional Iguana Removal Service, not a charter service. Regardless of how experienced of a shooter you are, you cannot represent my company.
I quietly and professionally remove Iguanas, the less impact and presence I make, the better it is for everyone.
